Tijdens zijn bachelor Aardwetenschappen aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam onderzocht hij koolstof- en zuurstofisotopen in tandglazuur van mosasaurussen uit het Nederlandse en Deense Maastrichti\u00ebn. In 2019 liep hij stage bij het Oertijdmuseum in Boxtel, waar hij onderzoek deed naar het dieet van Stenopterygius in het Lias van Duitsland. Voor zijn Master-thesis deed hij, samen met collega David Douw, onderzoek naar strontiumisotopen in het tandglazuur van Ierse Reuzenherten (Megaloceros giganteus) om migratiepatronen te achterhalen.<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Als bestuurslid van de Paleobiologische Kring bekleed Tom de rol van voorzitter en is hij verantwoordelijk voor de website, de bestuursvergaderingen en het contact met de leden.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tom Giltaij (1997) is in 2020 afgestudeerd van de master &#8216;Earth, Life and Climate&#8217; aan de Universiteit Utrecht.
